What is CDPAP?
CDPAP stands for Consumer Direct Personal Assistant Program. This medicaid program allows eligible clients who need long-term homecare to choose their caregiver.

Who is eligible for CDPAP?
Since CDPAP is a Medicaid program, you must have Medicaid in order to receive these services. CDPAP is available to those who are physically disabled or chronically ill and need assistance for daily activities. If you do not have Medicaid, we have experts who can help you with the Medicaid process as well.

Are CDPAP caregivers required to have a license or to undergo training?
No, caregivers do not need to be trained professionals and do not require any license.

Who can the client choose as their caregiver?
CDPAP is very flexible when it comes to choosing a caregiver. A client may choose anyone including their children and other family members though there are a few exceptions. For instance, they can not choose their spouse as their caregiver. For more information regarding who can be a caregiver feel free to call SMS.

How can one receive CDPAP services?
Enrolling into this service requires being assessed by nurses and filling out certain forms. You don’t need to worry about all the details as we will help you with this process every step of the way.

How many hours of service will the client receive?
Not all clients receive the same number of hours of homecare. This depends entirely on their condition and on other factors.

What is the hourly pay for caregivers?
The hourly pay is determined on a case-by-case basis. It depends on multiple factors. To learn about how much you may be paid, feel free to contact us.
